A graduate and former faculty member of The Juilliard School, Ms. Hildebrandt is the creator of the highly successful songbook At Jesus’ Knee, as well as a number of titles published by Hinshaw and others. Besides writing much sought-after songs and arrangements, she is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, singer and recording artist, fresh from her debut at New York City’s Carnegie Hall in a performance with the famed Bobby McFerrin.
Oceans Apart
Oceans Apart, as the name suggests, combine the traditional music from the British Isles and America. The music is taken from the oral Celtic tradition common to Ireland, Scotland and Wales; a tradition -- passed down from father to son for countless generations --that was carried with, and survived the Atlantic crossing of the hungry, disadvantaged and merely adventurous emigres of previous centuries, as, below decks, they danced and played their way to the new world.
The instruments are likewise the traditional penny whistles, bagpipes and flute that you would expect, along with mandolins, guitars and banjos picked up along the way. The dances -- jigs, reels and hornpipes -- are likewise embedded in the old-world culture that has flourished on these shinning shores!

Rinceoiri Don Spraoi
Rinceoiri Don Spraoi is pronounced "rin-cory don spree" which is Irish Gaelic for "dancing for fun." RDS provides students an opportunity to experience the rich traditions of Irish dance and music individually as well as within our communities. We begin taking students for instruction at age eight and adults are also encouraged to join. While our program is focused toward performing, no student is required to be a performer. We encourage anyone interested to come and learn Irish Step Dance just for the fun of it.
